Care and Use Instructions for Roll-Top Dry Backpacks and Duffel Bags

2- Proper Closure Technique:

To ensure maximum waterproofing, it is essential to close the roll-top closure properly. Roll the top of the bag at least three times, starting from the opening, to create a watertight seal. Fasten the buckle or clip to secure the roll in place.

3. Load Distribution:

When packing your roll-top dry bag, distribute the weight evenly to maintain balance and prevent strain on the bag. Place heavier items at the bottom and lighter items on top to avoid putting excessive stress on the closure mechanism.

4. Protect Fragile Items:

Use additional protective measures for fragile or delicate items. Wrap them in soft fabric or clothing before placing them in the dry bag to avoid potential damage.

5.  Sharp Objects:

Keep sharp objects away from the dry bag to prevent punctures or tears. Be mindful of any sharp edges on items you pack inside the bag as well, as they can cause damage from the inside.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance:

After each use, rinse the dry bag with fresh water, especially if it has been exposed to saltwater or any contaminants. Use a mild detergent if necessary, but avoid harsh chemicals that may compromise the bag's waterproofing abilities. Allow the bag to air dry thoroughly before storing it.

7. Storage:

Store your roll-top dry bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid folding or creasing the bag for extended periods as this can affect its integrity. Instead, loosely roll or hang the bag to maintain its shape.

8. Inspect Seams and Material:

Periodically check the seams, fabric, and closures for any signs of wear, such as fraying threads or deterioration. If you notice any damage, repair it promptly using appropriate repair kits or consult a professional if needed.

9. Avoid Overpacking:

Do not overstuff or exceed the recommended weight capacity of the dry bag. Overloading can put excessive strain on the seams and closure, compromising the bag's waterproof properties.

10. Use as Intended:

Roll-top dry bags are designed for keeping your gear dry during outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, boating, or kayaking. Do not use them for storing or transporting live animals, flammable materials, or other hazardous substances.

11. Not Submersible:

Roll-Top Dry Bags are not designed to withstand the pressure of being submerged. If you require this, look for a waterproof bag with air-tight zipper. The Malo'o 90L bag is an excellent choice.
